A native of Brooklyn, New York, Mr. Elhilow has spent his entire professional career serving the residents of the greater metropolitan New York area.

Initially specializing in criminal litigation, Joe began his career over thirty years ago, as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn. Upon entering private practice, he applied his litigation and courtroom skills to the civil arena, whree he formed a specialty in personal injury and real estate law. A seasoned trial attorney, he realizes the value of preparation and the need to keep his clients "in the loop" at each stage of "their case".

Nor are these skills applicable only to the courtroom arena. Mr. Elhilow has also developed a strong expertise in all phases of real estate and business formation. His clients range from the first-time home buyer to sophisticated real estate speculators and financial institutions, for whom he provides legal advise and expertise in commercial and residential closings.

Joe manages the firm's New York City location in Brooklyn and strives to remember that while he may handle dozens of matters in a single day, a client may only have one legal matter in his or her entire life. In short, each case is the most important thing in the world to a client and Elhilow & Maiocchi remains committed to providing legal services commensurate with that responsibility.

A firm believer in giving back, Joe is actively involved in his home community as well as his business community. He serves as a vice president in the Atlantic Beach Civic Association, a member of the Board of Directors and Associate Counsel for the St. Nicholas Assisted Living Facility and a member of the Board of Directors of the Bay Ridge Development Corporation.
